Trustee

We are seeking a new Trustee to join the DOCA family and help us to continue delivering exceptional outdoor arts events as we enter an exciting new chapter. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you!

Our Mission

Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts (DOCA) is an exciting arts charity formed in 2012. Our mission is to bring people together to enjoy shared, magical experiences of the arts. In support of that goal, at the end of 2023, we signed a lease on Parnella House, a grade 2 listed building owned by Devizes Town Council in the centre of Devizes. The next 2 – 3 years will witness the gradually transformation of the house into a major new Community Arts Hub, where individuals and community groups can work together on exciting new initiatives in the arts, culture, and education sectors. We are now looking for a Trustee to help us achieve our mission, and specifically to focus on the smooth running of the new Arts Hub.

Our Events

Core to our mission is the organising and running of a number of well-loved events each year:

  • The International Street Festival: a 2-day event with both national and international street performers plus a large market of street food vendors and craft stalls.
  • Picnic in Park: an afternoon of bands, community stalls artist led workshops.
  • Carnival: artist-led costume and dance workshops leading up to a spectacular parade through Devizes town centre.
  • Colour Rush and Confetti Battle: a colourful paint-filled run (or walk!) ending in the Devizes Market Place in time for the incredible Confetti Battle to begin.
  • Lantern Parade and Winter Festival: participatory lantern making workshops leading up to a fabulous parade of hundreds of lanterns and lighting installations plus a two-day indoor and outdoor market.
