The New Kings Carnival Project
DOCA is excited to be working with Ginkgo projects on a community event aimed at residents of the new Kings Gate estate in Amesbury, with thanks to Arts Council England, Bloor Homes and Amesbury Area Board for funding.
DOCA is leading a new partnership to create a spectacular entry for Amesbury Carnival, you will also see the Woolly Mammoth a small part of this work at Devizes Carnival on July 13th 2019. The project is funded by Bloor Homes, Arts Council England and Amesbury Area Board.
DOCA has been contracted by Ginkgo Projects to manage this exciting project. Ginkgo are an independent public art and cultural producer driven by a desire to create vision and experience led opportunities for artists and creative practitioners working closely with clients, design teams and communities to build and reveal an authentic sense of narrative, place and distinctiveness within both urban and rural environments.
We will work in Kings Gate, a new estate in Amesbury where over 4,200 homes have been built creating a new community, many of whom are military families. This project aims to create and engage the new community & connect them with the existing residents & the heritage of the local area.
We are creating an exciting project which will be delivered by Beautiful Creatures Theatre with a group of local people of all ages to create an exciting entry in the 2019 Amesbury Carnival. We would like to attract residents who are new to the area who would work alongside longer term residents from the Kings Gate area.
