DOCA Out & About 🤹

This year we want to connect more with our rural communities. There is a chance for you to host a festival act in your school, village hall or other rural location on Friday 9th of August ahead of the International Street Festival. We invite groups from the villages and towns surrounding Devizes to contact us to discuss the idea further, so that your community can experience a wonderful performance right on your doorstep!

As part of our connection with our rural communities, we would like to see more of you represented in Devizes Carnival parade this year. We are keen to discuss how we can support your group or family to take part. To find out more about this project, and to register your interest, please let us know here.

Grow Devizes 🌱

Introducing Grow Devizes: a collaborative community event that DOCA is co-creating with other organisations. Held from 3rd-6th May, we will be curating a series of mini events in and around town, hosted by different organisations on the themes of gardening, the outdoors and community involvement.

These will include guided walks, a gardening swap event and other activities for all ages. Keep an eye on our website and socials for more details.

As part of the programme of events, we will be hosting two garden parties in our office garden at Parnella House. One will be on Friday 3rd for representatives of community groups to come together and share ideas so that we can connect and support each other. If you run or are part of an organisation or community group that would find this interesting, let us know that you’ll be coming using this link.

The other garden party is to celebrate our wonderful Festival Makers, held on the afternoon of Sunday 5th May. As well as our existing team, we are inviting any individuals or families who are interested in finding out more about DOCA and how to get involved. Anyone is welcome to drop in on the day, but if you would like us to keep you posted with event details drop us an email at .

Carnival Theme 🎭

This year’s Devizes Carnival theme really brings it home, because…‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’

What do you love about where you live? What does Devizes or your village mean to you? Celebrate your local identity in this year’s parade by showing us what you think of when you think about ‘home’.

Taking part is easier than you think! If you’re interested to find out how, or to be kept in the loop about all things Carnival, please fill in this form.

Thank you for your support in all the events we’ve put on so far and helping your community celebrate together through your attendance, participation and enthusiasm.

DOCA is a registered charity, funded by grants and donations and we are passionate about delivering arts and culture in Devizes. In order to keep these events free for everyone to attend, we need your support. We will soon be launching a new fundraiser, with options that will allow you to contribute to the things that you enjoy the most. We look forward to your input and support with this. To get us started, please tell us what sort of acts you’d like to see more of at this year’s International Street Festival – CLICK HERE and let us know.

Thanks, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all in the sunshine soon 🌞
