Carnival Development – Schools Workshops
For the last two years we have worked with local groups on larger projects, including the creation of the sacred cow lantern that fondly got dubbed ‘Paisley’ – see more about her here.
This year, we want to work with more local groups to get them involved in the event and build their skills. The change of date in this year’s procession allows us to work with schools during term time and before people start going on their holidays
Do you want to take part in the Carnival, but don’t know where to start? Contact us and we might be able to help. We have some equipment that we are happy to hire out, and can offer advice with planning or making entries
Donations to support our workshops are appreciated – please support this, and our other great projects if you can. You can donate to DOCA and it’s work via our donations page
Keep an eye on our Social media for updates of what will be happening.
This year schools will be taking taking part in costume making workshops on the theme ‘Go Wild’, with artist Abigail Kennedy.
