DOCA works with people in Devizes and across Wiltshire to present professional outdoor arts experiences in the streets, towns, villages and landscapes of the county. With our artists, peers, volunteers and supporters we connect, devise, produce and present outdoor arts at their most thrilling and uplifting.

We invite and commission the very best outdoor artists and companies to work with us, covering a multitude of engaging and inspirational art forms from street theatre and contemporary circus to carnival arts and street music, from dance to puppetry and pyrotechnics to lantern making. We nurture and support artists from local beginners to emerging national companies.

Arts Administrator & Project Support Post

elephantlanterncroppedWe are an exciting outdoor arts organisation who deliver a range of contemporary arts events such as:

A two-week festival in August, including a high profile, two-day, international Street Festival with a live music event in the park, culminating in a carnival with artist-led costume and dance workshops.

It has grown to include collaboration with a local brewery to provide a Winter Ale Festival in February as well as a number of ongoing participatory projects throughout the year.

DOCA also delivers a pre-Christmas event, which features a parade of hundreds of lanterns, rounding off the annual programme with one of the largest community participatory arts events in the region.

What we are looking for...

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to take on the role of co-ordinating our work with schools and local community groups for our Winter Parade which utilises artists to deliver workshops to create large and small scale lanterns.

You will support the promotion of the scheme and delivery of the event on the evening of November 25th. You will also support with the co-ordination of our indoor market, liaising with stall holders and the host venue.

You will have experience in arts administration or project management and promotion.

Arts Administrator Post Details

Title of post: Arts Administrator and Project Support

Salary: £11,955 pro rata for 22.30 hours per week (equivalent to full time salary of £19,997)

Interviews will be held on 12.10.16 with notification by 14.10.16, with a view to an immediate start .

Contract: 22.30 hours per week 2 months fixed term commencing on 17.10.16

Holiday pay: 28 days pro rata’d

Closing date: 03.10. 2016

Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts (DOCA) is seeking 2-3 people with the skills, knowledge and experience to play a key role in the governance and strategic direction of one of the South West’s most important and innovative arts organizations.

DOCA is a registered charity and has received regular funding and endorsement from Arts Council England for more than a decade and works with thousands of people in Devizes and across Wiltshire to present professional outdoor arts experiences and opportunities at their most thrilling and uplifting.
